Answer out loud. Got it right? The next card shows up. Got it wrong? The app shows and says the right answer.

In context mode, the word shows up in the middle of a real sentence in the language you are learning, and you fill in the gap. You learn what it means and how to use it at the same time.

Is the app free?
Yes. The Free plan has every study feature, with 1 deck and up to 50 cards. The Pro plan unlocks unlimited decks and cards, with a monthly or yearly subscription.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The app needs no account and keeps your decks on your phone. To study by voice without internet, your phone needs the offline pack for that language, and the app lets you know when it is missing.
Which languages can I study?
English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese, in any pair: English to Spanish, French to German, Portuguese to Italian and so on.
How does voice study work?
You say the answer and the app recognizes your voice. If you get it right, the next card shows up by itself. If time runs out, the app shows the right answer and, if you want, says it out loud. The cards you miss come back at the end of the session.
Can I use my own words and sentences?
Yes. You create the decks and the cards: the word or expression, its translation and as many example sentences as you like.
What if I can’t speak right now?
Just tap “I’d rather type” and answer with the keyboard, with no time limit.
Does the app record my voice?
No. The microphone is only used to transcribe your answer while you study, and the audio is never recorded or stored. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
I got a new phone. Do I lose my decks?
Not if you make a backup. Before switching, export a backup in Settings › Your data and import it on the new phone. Pro comes back with “Restore purchases”, on the same Google account.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. For now Talkard is available for Android, on Google Play.
How do I cancel Pro?
The subscription is managed by Google Play. Cancel anytime in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions, or with “Manage subscription” on the Plans screen of the app. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, your oldest deck stays unlocked for study and the others are locked: you can view their cards and delete them, but not study or edit. Nothing is deleted, and if you subscribe again, everything is unlocked.
